“I wear a lot of hats, but my job boils down to two things. First, I help families either plan ahead for long-term care needs, or I help them manage the crisis of long-term care.
My 2nd hat is one that I have a lot of fun with, and that’s helping senior service providers understand that there is a BETTER way to market to seniors, and the adult children of aging parents.
Senior service providers can be wildly successful if they know a few key secrets about marketing. This isn’t a class they teach in college and it isn’t something that an award “seeking” ad agency is going to divulge…but I tell people everyday what really works!”
Valerie VanBooven is a Registered Nurse, Professional Speaker, a licensed life and health agent in Missouri, and a National Reverse Mortgage Specialist.

The History
Valerie started her nursing career in intensive care and burn trauma in 1992, moving on to nursing supervision and several years of discharge planning and case management for the Unity Health System in St. Louis. Valerie incorporated her own business in 1999, when Senior Care Solutions, Inc. (a geriatric care management firm) was formed.
Mid 2002, Valerie was selected as one of 16 presenters to embark on a nationwide speaking tour providing educational seminars for Federal Employees on the new Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program. Valerie became a regular visitor to the State Department, IRS, various bases and forts throughout the country, and various Federal Buildings. She has presented this information to thousands of attendees.
Professional Speaking and Consulting
Today, Valerie speaks at multiple conferences and seminars across the country on a wide variety of topics including consumer issues like long-term care planning, crisis management, reverse mortgages and much more. For professional organizations, Valerie speaks on effective marketing techniques for senior service providers.
Valerie is a member of the National Speaker’s Association.
She has been an expert speaker for national conferences hosted by The National Private Duty Association, The Wisconsin Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, The California Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, The 2006 Selling to Seniors Conference hosted by Life Insurance Selling Magazine, The 2006, 2007 and 2008 LTCi Summits, Hosted by Jesse Slome’s organization and the American Association of Long-Term Care Insurers, The 6th Annual Inter-Company Long-Term Care Insurance Conference Hosted by the Society of Actuaries.

Valerie and her husband Charlie are the proud parents of triplet girls born March 5, 2007.
